Maidens and Monsters

Howdy folks,

This posting is going to take a bit of a sidestep from our norm, which will happen from time to time. This one is not about us. Well, almost...
OMG!
Can you believe it?
No, I don't think I can.
Settle down now, it's not the end of the world... >cue spooky music<  Or is it? Muah-hahahhaa
Stop teasing. That isn't very nice.
No, not nice at all.
OK, this is in fact in the same vein as us and our works, and our members are excited about it--
Will you tell us what you're babbling about already.

WTFM
is proud to announce a rare opportunity in our area. The Korshak Collection, a private collection of original fantasy art is making it's public debut November 24, 2009, and will run through April 18, 2010.

Maidens and Monsters: The Art of Science Fiction, Adventure and Fantasy is an exhibit of pulp magazine and book covers that spans 80 years and includes paintings and illustrations by 22 masters of the genre. Featured in the collection are works by NC Wyeth, Kelly Freas, Frank Frazetta, Hannes Bok, and James Avati just to name a few.

This is a wonderful, and possibly once in a lifetime opportunity to view these iconic pieces together, unaltered, and in person. Not to mention, you'll get to play with a theramin. Squee! So, if you are in or near central Florida, or up for a little road trip, please do try to check it out. We don't think you will be disappointed.
